Research, with a paper trail

We prioritise dermatology organisations and primary research for health-related facts. Manufacturer pages can establish label directions or product specifications, but they are commercial sources and do not establish comparative effectiveness. Trend reporting identifies the market, time period and type of measurement.

Clear authorship and limits

The editorial desk uses AI for research assistance, drafting, organisation and site production. AI can make mistakes. We check claims against the linked sources, keep advice general and avoid diagnosing conditions. No article in this edition has been medically reviewed.

Research is not a product test

Research explainers and category comparisons are labelled accordingly. Hands-on reviews require recorded test dates, real observations, a relevant hair context and original evidence. We do not invent reviewers, ratings, qualifications, testimonials or before-and-after results.

Updates that mean something

Dates reflect substantive editorial work, not automatic daily timestamp changes. Corrections should describe what changed and why. A source that no longer supports a claim triggers a revision or removal of that claim.

About our imagery

Our opening editorial portraits and still-life artwork were created with AI. They illustrate the mood and subject of the journal; they are not photographs of a reviewer, tested products, clinical outcomes or real customer results. Original line artwork is decorative.

Commercial independence

Any future paid placement or affiliate relationship must be disclosed where readers encounter it. Commercial relationships do not entitle a partner to invented praise or a higher rating.
